What is FAME?

Fame is a MySpace application that allows you to find out exactly how famous you are on the web! You simply install the application on your profile, and watch as it calculates your fame ranking and compares you to your friends, people in your state, and ultimately everyone across the internet. The more your friends and family vote for you, the more famous you become! Try to beat out your friends and represent your state or city. You also receive more fame by referring people to use the application, as well as for how many people view your profile. How high can you get? Install FAME and find out!

How do you install FAME?

Installing FAME is safe and easy. You don't actually download a file, but rather click an install button on MySpace, and the application magically shows up on your page. As soon as you click install, you're able to choose your favorite background color and customize your widget. People can start voting for you right away. Click here to install FAME

How do you become famous?

There are a number of ways that you can become more famous and watch your FAME rankings rise. The first way is for your friends to vote for you — simple enough? Some great ways to get them to vote for you is to email them, post bulletins, and call them up on the phone and say "HEY! VOTE FOR ME!" You can also vote for them, and that will make them want to come and vote for you. Another way you become more famous is by getting all your friends to add the FAME widget to their profile. The more people with the FAME widget, the better chance your friend group can become the most famous on the web!

Why do I have less FAME points than I did before?

Your total FAME point are based on points gained in a rolling 30 day period. So it's completely normal to see your FAME points rise and fall.

How are the FAME rankings calculated?

The FAME rankings on calculated on a "last 30 days" basis. In other words, whoever has the most FAME points in the last 30 days rises up the rankings. The rankings change each and every day, so you should always check back and see how much you've risen (or fallen!).

How often are the FAME rankings updated?

We keep track of the FAME statistics all the time, but update the charts and rankings once per hour. That means you can check back often and see how you've improved your stats, etc.

How do I find my FAME statistics?

Everybody who has installed FAME has their own special fame stats page. That's where you can see how you rank compared to everyone else, see how your friends rank compared to you, and more. Having trouble finding YOUR page? Simply go to your MySpace profile, and click the "My Fame Stats" link in the bottom left of the FAME widget. Voila! You've found your personalized FAME stats page!

Why am I not showing up on WhatsMyFame?

Can I install FAME on another website?

No. As of right now FAME is specifically designed for MySpace and MySpace profiles. We do have plans to expand the scope of FAME in the future, but for now you'll need to install it on your profile in order to get votes and find out your true fame rankings.

How do you uninstall FAME?

We can't imagine any reason you'd EVER want to remove FAME from your profile, but if you do (sniff, sniff) you simply click the X in the upper right corner of the application. Just remember, if you remove it, you'll never be famous again! (Unless you install it again of course).
